United States is not just the capital of the Free world it is also the capital of the Incarcerated world. This seems like a paradox, but unfortunately it is true. The promise of the first would never be truly realized unless the second description can no longer be applied.   This group would involve discussions on the topic of America as a Carceral State and what could be done from a Human Rights perspective to change it. A discussion and dialog group about the privilege white skin has afforded and continues to afford in this society. A documentary from World Education Trust entitled "Mirrors of Privilege: Making Whiteness Visible" serves as a jumping off point for conversation and (our own) consciousness raising.
